In 1942, the Dutch minesweeper Abraham Crijnssen was the last Allied ship left in Japanese-controlled waters near Indonesia. The crew covered the entire vessel in jungle foliage and painted the hull to look like rocks. Sailing only at night and sitting motionless by day, it disguised itself as a small island. It was the only ship of its fleet to make it to Australia.
