Steven Spielberg directed Schindler's List for no fee. He called any payment "blood money" and told Universal to put his entire back-end cut into a new foundation he was starting. That became the Shoah Foundation, which has since recorded interviews with more than 55,000 Holocaust survivors in 65 countries.
